November patches for Azure DevOps Server and Team Foundation Server

This month, we are releasing fixes that impact our self-hosted product, Azure DevOps Server, as well as Team Foundation Server 2018.3.2.

Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1 Patch 5

Note: If you have Azure DevOps Server 2022, you should first update to Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1 and then install Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1 Patch 5. If you have Azure DevOps 2022 and installed Patch 4, take a look at this post from the Developer Community before you install this patch.

If you have Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1, you should install Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1 Patch 5. Please note that our patches are cumulative. If you didn’t install Patch 3 released on September 12, 2023, Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1 Patch 5 will include updates to the Azure Pipelines agent. The updated version of the agent after installing Patch 5 will be 3.225.0.

Release notes

  • Extended the PowerShell tasks allowed list of characters for Enable shell tasks arguments parameter validation.
  • Fix an issue that was causing service connections edits to be persistent after clicking the cancel button.

Verifying Installation

  • Run devops2022.0.1patch5.exe CheckInstall, devops2022.0.1patch5.exe is the file that is downloaded from the link above. The output of the command will either say that the patch has been installed, or that it is not installed.

The versions of Azure DevOps Server and Team Foundation Server listed in the table below have also been patches to fix the following:

  • Extended the PowerShell tasks allowed list of characters for Enable shell tasks arguments parameter validation.
