With automated host maintenance, in the rare event of degradation of a dedicated host, AWS will automatically reboot the EC2 instances running on it onto a newly allocated dedicated host during a scheduled maintenance event, to reduce your application’s downtime and offload undifferentiated heavy-lifting of host maintenance.
