Whether you’re building greenfield applications in the cloud, or looking to bring legacy apps into the 21st century, there’s a lot that goes into architecting a workload for the cloud. Google Cloud Next starts on Tuesday, October 11, and includes dozens of keynotes and breakout sessions designed for enterprise cloud architects. Here are a few to consider as you’re building out your playlist: 1. MOD105What's next for enterprise architects and developers Whether you’re looking for inspiration from visionary businesses, or the rundown on new infrastructure products and services, don’t miss Google Cloud VP & GM for infrastructure Sachin Gupta’s talk, where he’ll show you how you can not only migrate enterprise workloads to the cloud, but go one step further, and transform and optimize them. 2. MOD101Lift and transform your VMware estate with Google Cloud VMware Engine VMware is the beating heart of enterprise IT departments all over the world, but a lot of those organizations want to run those workloads in the cloud. In this session, learn how Google Cloud VMware Engine delivers a VMware stack running natively in Google Cloud, and how customers are using it to quickly migrate VMware applications to the cloud, without having to change existing applications. 3. MOD208 How to run multicloud apps consistently at scale with Anthos For several years now, we’ve been beating the drum of how Anthos can help you run modern apps anywhere (in the cloud, on-prem), consistently, and at scale. In this session, Snehal Patel, Director, Anthos Product Management will discuss new additions we’ve made to Anthos to improve security and broaden the reach of its supported workloads. 4. MOD206 Storage best practices for data analytics, GKE, and critical applications A workload is only as good as the storage layer underneath it. Here, Google Cloud storage expert Sean Derrington discusses Cloud Storage, Filestore, and Persistent Disk, and best practices when designing infrastructure for data analytics, stateful databases, SAP, and HPC. 5. MOD201How to improve customer experience with resilient, cloud-native architectures Google Cloud’s global reach can make it much easier to design applications that can withstand outages, including mission-critical banking apps. In this session learn about the principles behind designing for high availability and resiliency in the cloud from Google Cloud Customer Engineer Marcos Lucilla and a large European bank. This is just a taste of all the breakout sessions that might be of interest to you. To explore the full catalog of breakout sessions and labs designed for cloud architects, check out the entire Modernize track in the Catalog. But don’t stop there — depending on your workload, you’ll want to attend sessions from the Operate and Secure tracks too. And don’t forget to tune into the Developer Keynote presented live from the Next Innovators Hive from Sunnyvale on Tuesday October 11 from 10:00 - 11:00 PT – and again from Bengaluru, Munich, and Tokyo.
