AWS Posted July 28, 2022 Share Posted July 28, 2022 Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) volume type gp3 (General Purpose SSD), in addition to the existing gp2, Magnetic and PIOPS (io1) volumes. You can use gp3 volumes on our latest generation T3, R5, R6g, M5, M6g, C5 and C6g instance families. Amazon EBS gp3 enables customers to provision performance independent of storage capacity, provides better baseline performance, at a 9.6% lower price point per GB than existing gp2 volumes on OpenSearch Service. In addition, with gp3 you now get denser storage on R5, R6g, M5, M6g instance families, which can help you to further optimize your costs.
