PS Plus Extra subscribers hoping to download the Fallout 4 free current-gen update have been left disappointed, after finding that the upgraded version hasn't been applied to the subscription service. Instead, those who have downloaded the game from the PS Plus game catalog are stuck with the previous-gen version. As reported by GameSpot, Fallout 4 players took to social media to warn others that the current-gen PS5 update has yet to be applied to the PS Plus Extra download. However, developer Bethesda Game Studios is aware of the problem, and took to X / Twitter to address the issue. We've seen some confusion regarding the free Fallout 4 next-gen update for PlayStation Plus Extra members. Your patience is appreciated while the teams work on…April 25, 2024 See more "We've seen some confusion regarding the free Fallout 4 next-gen update for PlayStation Plus Extra members," the post begins. "The Fallout 4 next-gen update will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra members through the PlayStation Game Catalog. Your patience is appreciated while the teams work on this." As of now, Bethesda Game Studios hasn't provided a concrete date or time as to when the fix will be implemented, though we imagine it shouldn't be overly long before PS5 players can enjoy the free update. There's potentially worse news, however, for players who downloaded Fallout 4 via PS Plus Essentials (the monthly rotating free game service) or the now-defunct PS Plus Collection – they might not get the update at all. In response to a question in the original post's replies, the official Bethesda Support account posted: "Fallout 4's Next-Gen Update will be available for PS Plus Extra members. We do not have any information regarding PS5 Catalogue or PS Plus Essentials." It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for the Fallout 4 free update on other platforms, either. While the game has been successfully patched on Xbox Series X|S and PC, Xbox players are reporting that the update has broken modded saves, and some mods available via the in-game mod menu have stopped working outright. What's more, the PC version doesn't seem to play nice with F4SE (Fallout 4 Script Extender), a mod widely considered to be essential for adding larger-scale creations to the game. It's all a bit of shame given the renewed interest in the game following the massive success of the Fallout TV show on Prime Video. For more on the show, check out our interview with Todd Howard, in which he explains the reasoning behind some of the big changes made to bring the game to a streaming audience. The PlayStation 5's latest system software update is available to download now, and it adds a fantastic community-driven feature to your console in addition to the usual stability improvements we expect from these firmware updates. As outlined by the official PlayStation support website, Version 24.03-09.20.00 brings Community Game Help to the existing Game Help feature on PS5. Integrated within Game Help, there will now be videos captured by the community to help players through sections of games that support the feature. This will be most of the best PS5 games and no doubt many upcoming games for the console, too. These captures will still be curated and moderated by Sony, so there should be little fear of coming across misleading or offensive footage. Players will then get to apply a rating to these videos as an indication of how useful they are. You also don't require a PS Plus subscription to contribute to the Community Game Help feature, as it's available for every PS5 owner. Community Game Help videos are visible to all, but if you want to contribute videos yourself, you'll need to opt in. As the support page outlines, this is easily done by going to Settings > Captures & Broadcasts > Captures > Auto Captures > Community Game Help. From here, select Participate to have yourself fully opted in. You're able to opt-out from here, too, should you wish. Now, when you pass certain activities in a title that supports Game Help, footage of you doing so will be captured automatically by your PS5. It's then uploaded to Sony's servers and moderated. Furthermore, the captured footage will be deleted from storage once it's been uploaded, so there's no fear of the Community Game Help feature overloading your PS5 SSD. You might also like... With the advent of increased third-party support on iOS, video game emulators have rushed to the App Store to fill in the gap. The first bunch has been primarily for old Commodore 64 and GameBoy titles. However, this could soon change as we may see an emulator capable of running Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn games. The app in question is called Provenance EMU. In an email to news site iMore, project lead Joseph Mattiello said his team is working on launching their software to the App Store. Provenance, if you’re not familiar, can run titles from a variety of consoles, including famous ones such as the Super Nintendo and more obscure machines. It’s unknown when the emulator will make its debut. Mattiello states they also need to make some quality-of-life fixes first and he wants to “investigate” the new rules. The report doesn’t explain what he’s referring to, but Mattiello may be talking about the recent changes Apple made to the App Review Guidelines. Lines were added in early April stating “developers are responsible for all the software inside their apps”. Plus, emulators need to “comply with all applicable laws”. WarningPlease note the use of emulators may be in violation of the game developer and publisher terms and conditions as well as applicable intellectual property laws. These will vary so please check these. Emulators should only ever be used with your own purchased game copy. TechRadar does not condone or encourage the illegal downloading of games or actions infringing copyright. This could put third-party developers under deep scrutiny by gaming publishers. Nintendo, for example, is not afraid to sic its lawyers after developers it claims are violating the law. Look at what happened with Yuzu. Game emulation currently exists in a legally gray area. Despite this, they have been allowed to exist, but one wrong move could bring the hammer down. So, Mattiello wants to ensure his team won’t be stepping on any landmines at launch. If all goes well, we could see a new era of mobile gaming; one where the titles aren’t just sidescrollers with sprites, but games featuring fleshed-out 3D models and environments. What to play We don’t recommend downloading random ROMs of games off the internet. Not only could they violate intellectual property laws, but they can also hold malware. These digital libraries aren’t the most secure. So if and when Provenance is released on the App Store, what can people play? At the moment, it seems users will have to try out homebrew games. They’re independently made titles that copy certain graphical styles for emulators. iMore recommends PSX Place, a website where hobbyists come together to share their homebrewed PlayStation games. Itch.io is another great resource. If you ever wanted to play a fan adaptation of Twin Peaks, Itch.io has one available. For GameBoy-style titles, Homebrew Hub has tons of fan-made projects. Personally, we would love to see publishers like Sony and Nintendo release their games on iOS. That way, people can enjoy the classics without skirting the law. For those looking to upgrade, check out TechRadar's guide for the best iPhone for 2024. You might also like Want a retro gaming emulator on your iPhone? The lead developer of the multi-emulator app Provenance has told iMore that his team is working towards releasing the app on the App Store, but he did not provide a timeframe. Provenance is a frontend for many existing emulators, and it would allow iPhone and Apple TV users to emulate games released for a wide variety of classic game consoles, including the original PlayStation, GameCube, Wii, SEGA Genesis, Atari 2600, and others. Apple has so far approved emulators on the App Store for older Nintendo consoles and the Commodore 64. For example, Riley Testut's popular Delta emulator is now in the App Store in many countries, and it can emulate games released for the Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Nintendo 64, and Nintendo DS. Provenance would bring the first Sony, SEGA, and Atari emulators to the App Store if approved. Provenance has been in development since 2016, and it can already be sideloaded on the iPhone and the Apple TV outside of the App Store. Apple updated its App Review Guidelines earlier this month to allow "retro game console emulator apps" on the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices. Earlier this week, Apple told us that emulators that can load games (ROMs) are permitted on the App Store, so long as the apps are emulating "retro console games" only. It is unclear if Apple will consider consoles like the GameCube and Wii to be "retro." While a U.S. court ruled that emulators are legal, downloading copyrighted ROMs is typically against the law in the country. On its customer support website for the U.S., Nintendo says that downloading pirated copies of its games is illegal. A wide collection of public-domain "homebrew" games are available to play legally.Tags: App Store, Emulator This article, "PlayStation, GameCube, Wii, and SEGA Emulator for iPhone and Apple TV Coming to App Store" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums View the full article

It's been confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is to be the first PC port to receive PlayStation trophy support. This version of the game, coming to PC on May 16, is the full package. That means it'll include the excellent Iki Island expansion and the cooperative multiplayer Legends mode. The news comes via an official PlayStation Blog post written by Julian Huijbregts, online community specialist at Nixxes Software, the team responsible for the port. The post confirms trophy support alongside multiplayer crossplay for the game's Legends mode and an entirely new PlayStation overlay for PC players. Starting with the trophy support, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PC will have the same trophies as its console version counterpart. Furthermore, if you've connected your PlayStation Network account, any and all trophies you've previously unlocked will carry over to the PC version, so there's no need to grab them twice. And fear not, achievements on Steam and Epic Games Store are supported, too. It will also be the first PC port to receive an all-new PlayStation overlay, accessible by pressing Shift+F1 on your keyboard. The overlay contains all your PlayStation Network information and stats including trophies, friends list, profile settings and supports voice chat. It seems it'll be entirely unintrusive too, built into the game rather than requiring a separate downloadable client. Ghost of Tsushima is the first of presumably many PlayStation PC ports to receive this new overlay. We imagine it'll come to existing ports like Horizon Forbidden West and Returnal at some point, alongside any additional ports yet to be announced (we'd still love a Gran Turismo 7 port, Sony). Final Fantasy 16's producer Naoki Yoshida has offered some insight into the game's PC performance benchmark. Earlier this month, Yoshida confirmed that after almost one year of PlayStation 5 exclusivity, the PC port of Final Fantasy 16 is now in the "final stages of optimization", and that although it doesn't yet have a release date, Square Enix will be releasing a demo ahead of launch. The producer also revealed that the PC specifications will be "somewhat high" but at the time of writing, the detailed requirements haven't been shared. However, in a recent interview with MMORPG, Yoshida was able to provide some more information about the game's optimizations. When asked if there are any enhancements for the PC port over the PS5 version, Yoshida said there's nothing for localization but that it will have "better performance on a PC than PS5". "If you have a very high end PC, you probably will get better graphical fidelity and better performance," Yoshida said. "But if you have a lower end PC, you're not going to be able to compete with the PS5." He continues, saying that the team's engineers are working on optimization and testing the limits. "We've seen some hardware getting that framerate up over 100 (fps) in places, but again, it's going to depend on the hardware that you have," Yoshida explains. "We're doing a lot of testing on that now. But the better the hardware you have, the better you're gonna see." We've also recently learned that the upcoming port would require users to have an SSD due to the game's technical demand, with Yoshida explaining that the loading screens would be much faster and better optimized for players if the RPG is installed on an SSD as opposed to an HDD. Yoshida went on to encourage users to try out the PC demo before they purchase the game so they can test how it performs on their build. In terms of a release date, Yoshida couldn't confirm one but did say, "It's not like it's a year away. We're getting close to that release date, so players shouldn't have to wait too much longer." Final Fantasy 16 received its first downloadable content (DLC) expansion, Echoes of the Fallen, in December and it was recently announced that its second DLC, The Rising Tide, will now arrive on April 18. It looks as if PSN is down across several regions at least, and is quite possibly a global problem. It's highly unusual and rare to see such outages, so here's what we know so far about when it started, what it's affecting, and if there's any sign of a recovery at the moment. The outage began at 09:51 PST / 12:51 EST / 16:51 GMT today and is currently affecting PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and web services across the board. Is PSN down? As you can see from a snapshot below of the official PlayStation Network Service Status page, it does not look good, with issues affecting all facets of the ecosystem. Players have been reporting errors and issues across account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct. While your experience will vary depending on your region, we do know that the US, the UK, Australia, Japan, and continental Europe have all been hit by the outage which leads us to believe it might be a global problem. Beyond the red dots that immediately notify users of issues or problem, each subset (Account Management, PlayStation Video, et al) has been updated with a similar message. The Gaming and Social drop-down, for example, states "You might have difficulty launching games, apps or network features. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience." We've been able to test and 'recreate' the outage on almost all fronts: we can't get online in games, we can't look at the PS Store on the web or mobile, and I can't even upload the screenshot of my failed Helldivers 2 login for you - however, we could access and seemingly use the PlayStation Store as normal on PS5. (Image credit: Sony) PlayStation Network reports on Down Detector are spiking right now, which means more and more people are reporting problems. Millions of PlayStation owners in Europe will be finishing work around this time too, leaving many disappointed if they had online gaming plans. With such a widespread outage across all of PlayStation's services, folks will be up against it if they want to do anything from redeeming a code and buying a game to jumping into the main online game of the moment in Helldivers 2. With the imminent release of Rise of the Ronin and Dragon's Dogma 2, this is seriously unfortunate timing and could well affect many players looking to download the new games in preparation. With no official word on when a fix will be deployed from Sony or PlayStation, this looks like an outage that we'll just have to wait out. As to what caused the outage, we just can't be sure, but we will keep this page updated with any more news we get in terms of a fix, online elements coming back online, and any reasons for the outage. Former Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) chairman Shawn Layden addressed the challenges facing the modern games industry in a brand new interview, calling console exclusives the "Achilles' heel" of the video games landscape. Speaking with VentureBeat, Layden stated: "When your costs for a game exceed $200 million, exclusivity is your Achilles' heel. It reduced your addressable market. Particularly when you’re in the world of live-service gaming or free-to-play. Another platform is just another way of opening the funnel, [and] getting more people in. In a free-to-play world, as we know, 95% percent of those people will never spend a nickel. "The business is all about conversion," continued Layden. "You have to improve your odds by cracking the funnel open. Helldivers 2 has shown that for PlayStation, coming out on PC at the same time. Again, you get that funnel wider. You get more people in." However, the former SIE chairman was keen to emphasize the limits of console gaming as a market. "We’re not doing enough to get heretofore non-console people into console gaming. We’re not going to attract them by doing more of [what] we’re doing now. If 95 [percent] of the world doesn’t want to play Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto, is the industry just going to make more Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto? That’s not going to get you anybody else." For Layden, the upshot of this is that "we're just taking money from the same people. That happened during the pandemic, which made a lot of companies overinvest. Look at our numbers going up! We have to chase that rocket!" We've already seen Xbox attempt to break the console-exclusives mold by releasing four previously Xbox-exclusive titles on PlayStation. This includes the co-op swashbuckling simulator Sea of Thieves and indie rhythm game Hi-Fi Rush. For now, it looks as though console exclusives are still with us. PlayStation account owners will soon be able to start using a passkey as an alternative to a password when logging into a PlayStation account on the web, in an app, or on a PlayStation device. Passkey integration is set to be introduced at some point today, and users will be able to log in and authenticate their accounts with Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode on an iPhone. Passkeys are considered more convenient and secure than a traditional password, with sign-ins streamlined through biometric authentication. Passkeys are resistant to online attacks such as phishing because there's no password to steal and no one-time SMS code that can be intercepted. Apple has supported passkeys since 2022, and passkeys are available on iOS 16 and later, iPadOS 16 and later, and macOS Ventura and later. Many companies have been implementing support for passkeys, including Twitter, Google, PayPal, Best Buy, Microsoft, and eBay.Tag: Passkeys This article, "PlayStation Adds Support for Passkeys as Password Alternative" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums View the full article

As part of an effort to promote Apple Music on the PlayStation, Apple is offering PlayStation 5 owners up to six months of free access to the Apple Music streaming service. PlayStation 5 owners will need to sign into the PlayStation Network, download the Apple Music app, and follow the on-screen instructions to accept the offer. Users will need to sign in with an Apple ID or create one. The PlayStation website suggests that gamers use Apple Music to create a personalized gaming playlist to listen to before, during, and after gameplay sessions. The Apple Music promotion is only available on the PlayStation 5, and it has to be redeemed on a PlayStation 5 console. Only new and qualified returning subscribers to Apple Music can get free access, so this is not a deal that is available to current subscribers. New subscribers will receive six months of Apple Music, while returning subscribers will get five months. Apple will be offering the deal until 11/15/24. After the six-month period expires, a subscription can be continued for $10.99 per month.Tag: Apple Music This article, "Six Months of Free Apple Music Available to PlayStation 5 Owners" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums View the full article

The buds' release date has crept up on us but the earbuds have already been in hot demand throughout their pre-order phase. Now, unfortunately, we regret to inform you that Pulse Explore stock is proving nigh-on impossible to find, particularly in the US. In the UK, we've seen some retailers sell out today despite having been reliable places for pre-order too, but a couple are holding on. However, we're here to help and can point you in the right direction to try your luck at retailers or poke about in the right places. The attraction of changing your PlayStation 5 audio and getting it from some top gaming earbuds as opposed to a larger PS5 headset is something many folks are looking forward to given the current state of PlayStation Pulse Explore stock. AS a result, we're in a similar position to the PlayStation Portal, continually checking and trying retailers to see if stock has dropped or if there's a chance to get lucky with a physical store. Given the state of affairs, we recommend sticking with and trying all the retailer links below in your quest to get the new earbuds - and don't give into the scalpers! We think that the Pulse Explore earbuds with their planar magnetic drivers and AI-enhanced noise rejection could well be one of the most exciting holiday acquisitions for PS5 fans, offering a whole different way to experience game audio. Also, those looking for PlayStation Portal restocks and those who have secured one of the new handhelds will be particularly interested - the Portal and Explore buds do seem to be a great match. Anyway, let's get to it, below, we've covered all the go-to retailers that are worth checking for stock, and we'll be updating this page regularly. Where to buy PlayStation Pulse Explore - US Check stock at Amazon If stock is ever going to appear out of the blue then it's at the biggest online retailer going; Amazon's always worth checking we'd recommend bookmarking the store page as a result.View Deal Check stock at Best Buy Best Buy's listing page is up and live but only has the inactive 'Sold Out' button on it. We know of folks in the Portal and PS5 community have had luck at Best Buy today, too, so it's definitely worth trying regularly henceforth.View Deal Check stock at Walmart Walmart's page is currently inactive, but we know this is the right listing URL for it so it's worth checking nonetheless.View Deal Check stock at Target Unfortunately out of stock at Target as well, the buds have a live listing page but a greyed-out Add to Cart button at present. Hopefully stock will return soon, so Target is still one to keep an eye on.View Deal Check stock at PlayStation Direct Certainly worth keeping tabs on, too, is PlayStation Direct itself. While currently out of stock, the page's listing currently says "Not in stock? We are regularly restocking this item on site, please check back later." As a result, we think it's worth checking here regularly.View Deal Where to buy PlayStation Pulse Explore - UK Very - £199.99 As of December 7, the buds are available at Very! The Pulse Explore earbuds are in stock at Very right now, so jump on this before they go again.View Deal Argos - £199.99 Up for an easy delivery-only (i.e. no in-store pick up) at Argos, you can bag your Pulse Explore earbuds from the ever-reliable retailer right now.View Deal Game - £199.99 You can place a pre-order for the Pulse Explore buds at Game right now - perfect for those with any reward points to spend.View Deal PlayStation Direct - £199.99 You can go straight to the source and buy the Pulse Explore buds from PlayStation Direct. If you're a PS Plus member you can get free shipping too.View Deal Check stock at Very As of December 7, the buds are available at Very! The Pulse Explore earbuds are sold out again at Very, sadly. Another one to keep an eye on though given its previous form of being a reliable Sony stockist.View Deal Argos - £199.99 Up for an easy delivery-only (i.e. no in-store pick up) at Argos, you can bag your Pulse Explore earbuds from the ever-reliable retailer right now - you'll just have to make sure your postcode and delivery options match with Argos' often location-specific stock.View Deal As it stands, those are your best US and UK options for knowing where to buy PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds - or try to. As we are doing with the Portal, we'll be doing our very best to keep links updated and this page refreshed with the latest stocks news, but our price-finding tech, below, should be able to present you with some quickfire links at any time. Where to buy PlayStation Pulse Explore - FAQs How much are the Pulse Explore earbuds? The PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds are $199.99 / £199.99 and are up for pre-order right now. They are proving popular though so pre-order options in the US particularly can fluctuate. Do the Pulse Explore earbuds work with Bluetooth?Yes! The Pulse Explore earbuds will support Bluetooth - however, not for it's main gaming audio functionality. Game audio from the PS5, PlayStation Portal, or PC (using the dongle) will be provided by PlayStation Link, but you can use Bluetooth to listen to music or take phone calls simultaneously. Will there be PlayStation Pulse Explore stock before the holidays? We sure hope there will be PlayStation Pulse Explore earbud restocks in the run-up to Christmas but we can't guarantee it, naturally (sadly). However, we hold out hope as the US PlayStation Direct listing page currently says "Not in stock? We are regularly restocking this item on site, please check back later" so it's worth bearing in mind that restocks might be being primed in the background. Thankfully, stock is holding nicely in the UK, but wherever you are, keep checking back here with our updated page for the latest places and links to try. Pre-order PlayStation Portal - quick links (Image credit: Sony)US PlayStation Direct - $199.99 UK Game - £199.99 PlayStation Direct - £199.99 There's still stock floating about at retailers and Sony itself if you're still looking to pre-order PlayStation Portal. However, stock has been wildly fluctuating in recent weeks and days with only PlayStation Direct being the mainstay on both sides of the Atlantic - however, with units appearing out of nowhere regularly throughout the working day, it's worth keeping tabs on all of the potential sources. For many folks, particularly those who mainly play on PS5, the PlayStation Portal accessory could be a revolutionary device, opening up extra gaming opportunities and time. I'm incredibly excited about it and it's going to be perfect for my life from a use-case perspective. Also, given its form factor, having been designed around a DualSense controller it's going to be brilliant for me, and others, from an accessibility perspective - I don't even care that it's not got Bluetooth, given what it'll offer me. Aside from the upcoming Black Friday gaming deals and Black Friday PS5 deals, a PlayStation Portal pre-order could be one of the most exciting acquisitions that fans can make in the run-up to the holidays - but it's getting harder to nail down your PS Portal pre-order as the device has proved popular and stock is down to just a few retailers. With stock fluctuating wildly, we recommend you keep checking all these links and retailers too if your head is turned in this last week before the device's launch. If you're still on the fence and need some help working out whether the device is for you still, then check out our guide to should you buy a PlayStation Portal, as well as our PlayStation Portal vs Backbone One comparison. We've covered all the go-to stockists and retailers that are worth looking at right now below, but if you're looking for a quick snapshot, our price-finding tech will give you the best price, deal, and availability it can find just below before we get into it. Where to pre-order PlayStation Portal - US Pre-order at PlayStation Direct - $199.99 The official PlayStation Direct storefront has remained well stocked since the Portal's announcement it seems, so this is still a good bet for placing a pre-order.View Deal Pre-order at Amazon - $199.99 (currently out of stock) The go-to behemoth online retailer should be worth keeping tabs on - if stock can reappear anywhere quickly and out of the blue, then this is as good a place as any.View Deal Pre-order at Walmart- $199.99 (currently out of stock) Up until very recently, this was the retailer to have stock in so we'd say it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on Walmart this week if you prefer to shop there.View Deal Pre-order at Best Buy - $199.99 (currently out of stock) Best Buy also had stock levels go up and down in the past couple of weeks, and given that said stock can depend on where you live, it's a good idea to keep this one regularly refreshed.View Deal Pre-order at Newegg - $199.99 (currently out of stock) At one point, Newegg was the only retailer away from PlayStation Direct to still have stock, but now it too is listing the Portal as out of stock. Well worth a check though, as are all these retailers.View Deal Pre-order at GameStop - $199.99 (currently out of stock) The game-specialist retailer did have stock for a long while and has seen fluctuations in recent weeks so is worth a bookmark and keeping an eye on.View Deal Pre-order at Target - $199.99 (currently out of stock) Target has seen stock so is a worthwhile candidate to keep an eye on given the current state of affairs - though we think one of the above retailers is perhaps slightly more likely to get stock first.View Deal Where to pre-order PlayStation Portal - UK Pre-order at Game - £199.99 Heading up stock availability in the UK is the video game specialist retailer, Game - as many would have predicted. This store's stock, as far as we know, hasn't fluctuated at all since the listing became active, so looks like the current best bet right now.View Deal Pre-order at PlayStation Direct - £199.99 Also not having stock fluctuation issues is the official UK PlayStation Direct store - another solid place to place a PlayStation pre-order right now, just days before launch.View Deal Pre-order at Amazon - £199.99 (currently out of stock) Many UK shoppers' go-to retailer has seen its PS Portal stock go up and down, particularly in the last couple of weeks. As with the PS5 stock problems, however, it's worth keeping an eye on this page as it can change very quickly.View Deal Pre-order at Very - £199.99 (currently out of stock) Another popular retailer in the UK for gaming, Very too has no stock right now it seems, but it has been coming and going. One to keep an eye on.View Deal Pre-order at Currys - £199.99 (currently out of stock) Always worth a look in the UK, electrical specialist and huge stockist of many things, Currys, has had stock recently. Definitely one to check as local stores' stock can be a factor here.View Deal So there you have it, those are the best places to try right now to place a PlayStation Portal pre-order. We'll do our best to keep the page updated to direct you to the best places to try as stock levels change, and in case you need a last quickfire look, here's our price finding tech again to give you another look. Sony has started notifying users that it will be turning integration with the social media site X - formally known as Twitter - next week. All integration with X/Twitter will be turned off on November 13, 2023 meaning that console owners will not be able to view any content published on the site using either the PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4, and this will include the ability to post and view any content, whether this is videos, screenshots or anything related top trophies. This was spotted by Twitter user Wario64, who posted the below screenshot. PS5/PS4 will no longer have Twitter/X integration as of Nov 13th, 2023 pic.twitter.com/Rm0ENYgZmXNovember 6, 2023 See more You can see the same text posted on Sony's website. It says: "As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so). For details on how to share game captures from PS5, click here, and for PS4, click here." While the exact reason has not been confirmed by Sony, it's likely that this is related to the increase in price for use of the Twitter / X API. There are several tiers to the new API costs, but the Enterprise tier starts at $42,000 a month. While this change wasn't confirmed as the reason, after this change Microsoft turning off Twitter / X integration from Xbox consoles and their Windows Game Bar all the way back in April. Blizzard also disabled Twitter / X integration for their massive multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft back in February. We've reached out to Twitter / X for comment, but I'm not sure if they even have a press affairs department at this stage. I've also reached out to Sony, and if they confirm the reason for the change, we'll update the story accordingly. Want to be unable to post screenshots and video on X? You need a console.
