  3. Today at HashiConf, we are excited to announce a host of important new products, features, and updates spanning our entire product line. The new products and features focus on enhancing workflow automation for developers and lifecycle management for cloud platform teams across both infrastructure and security. Dealing with cloud infrastructure and addressing related security challenges highlights two key areas of concern for many organizations: making the cloud easily accessible to developers — in a secure, cost-effective, and efficient way. Our HashiConf announcements focus on infrastructure and security concerns, with an ongoing mission of delivering developer-driven workflows that are well integrated with the standardized, shared services enabled by platform teams... 5. Data centres are going through a transformation. Gradually, we will see a new type of equipment attached to servers in almost every data centre: smartNICs are here. They will be the enablers of converged data centres where common infrastructure tasks are offloaded from a host server to attached network interface cards (NIC). Think of it this way: host servers will only run the applications that drive the actual return on investment. Operating the infrastructure itself will be the task of a fleet of smartNICs, effectively helping out the servers with the necessary networking, storage, and security tasks, among many others. In other words, data centres will do what they are actually supposed to do: run applications. The overhead will be offloaded, driving efficiency... View the full article
  6. Despite being a well-known concept, implementing high availability (HA) remains a challenge for many companies. It’s critical to avoid single points of failure in company infrastructure, but it can be difficult to know where to start. In this Techstrong Learning Experience, we’ll shed light on this issue and explore the topic of HA. Our panel […] View the full article

  8. Terraform Cloud (TFC) can help manage infrastructure as code (IaC) development for large enterprises. As the number of Google Cloud projects grows, managing access controls for Terraform Cloud projects and workspaces can become complex. Don't worry, we have a solution that is designed to be more secure than using Google Cloud service account keys, and also scales well for hundreds or even thousands of Google Cloud projects, TFC workspaces, and TFC projects using Workload Identity Federation... 9. Nearly every company wants to evolve its digital transformation and increase the pace of software delivery and operations. And infrastructure automation is a new means to achieve these ends. It supports the emerging discipline of platform engineering and can increase scalability and reactivity to unforeseen events, enabling software ecosystems to be more anti-fragile. Increased infrastructure […] View the full article
  10. When is Open Infrastructure Summit 2020: October 19th-23rd Where: Everywhere! This year’s OIS is virtual. Get your free ticket Book a meeting This year we’ve probably used the word ‘unprecedented’ almost as often as we’ve said ‘Linux’ and yet life must go on, and certainly so does tech. That’s why we were so thrilled to hear that Open Infrastructure Summit (OIS) will indeed take place this year too (virtually of course) – especially considering how solid the interest around OpenStack is today, and Canonical’s ongoing commitment to this technology and community. As the OpenStack Summit’s became the Open Infrastructure Summit, the community’s focus has begun to broaden; in addition to traditional data centre infrastructure, you will be able to learn about micro clouds for edge use cases and open operators to run your infrastructure as code...
